Alissa Faber is an artisan and designer, creating sculptural glass, ceramic and mixed media installations in Burlington, Vermont. She graduated from Alfred University with a degree in sculpture and is currently a teaching artist in Vermont.
Alissa’s installations display her enchantment with the process and movement of hot glass. Her interest extends to how materials behave together technically, as well as visually. Many designs begin in hot glass with materials being added to create unique mixed media installations, often echoing the natural world.
Alissa is also a teaching artist, facilitating large art making projects with schools and community groups. Participant each create small individual pieces of artwork which added together bring a full installation to life. Her residencies highlight cooperative work and access to fine art processes for all abilities.
